Hey...
A guy down the street was selling a bunch of bike parts and old cycles. I picked up a pair of 7/8" z bars, you know, like the 70's chopper style. I'm thinking about trying them out on my Savage.
Problem is, the Savage has 1" bar controls! He showed me a knurled spacer I could probably buy for the risers. Anyone have advice on getting the controls to fit? Can I make my own spacers out of sheet metal or something?
Also, the chrome is beat up a little. I cleaned them up with the guy's steel wool, but they are still rough in some spots. Any cheap easy way to "doll 'em up'? How much would chroming them cost?
Anybody seen these bars on the Savage?
